“The Erasmus Student Charter outlines the basic entitlements of the Erasmus students, such as free tuition and full recognition of studies abroad. The Charter also specifies the main obligations of the Erasmus students, providing them with a concise idea of their duties in respect to both their home and host universities. It will be issued to all Erasmus students by their home universities before they leave for their study period abroad.”

So far the following groups have been operated:

  • Martial Arts Society

They also, occasionally, organize their own activities, expressing their concerns and keeping the youthful spirit active in Harokopio University.

The agenda of the student community includes events such as excursions, political discussions, theatrical performances and film viewings.

In the last years, the Harokopio University students organize with great success the HAROKOPIO STUDENT FESTIVAL and the CHRISTMAS CHARITY BAZAAR.

Last but not least, a student team edits the periodical “To Vathaki tou Charokopeiou” – (“Harokopio University’s Reverb’”) where at least one column is devoted to Erasmus mobility matters. Erasmus guest students are encouraged to become member of the Student Press Team or at least to give a paper or an interview.

5.4. SCIENTIFIC & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

Harokopio University as organizing and host institution of scientific & cultural activities and events

“Learning Greek on the Web” employs English as the support language, and is based on the language material of the multimedia CD-ROM series “filoglossia+”, which has been developed by the Educational Technology Department of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (for more information, please visit http://www.ilsp.gr/filoglossia+.html). The basic features of the lessons are summarized below:

• Attractive and friendly user-interface
• Plenty of video and audio files (with the participation of native speakers)
• Links between texts and video
• Translation in English
